On Thursday, August 15, MLW posted a video with Mister Saint Laurent, Tom Lawlor, and Davey Boy Smith Jr. on social media. Laurent addressed rumors quickly and stated that Smith is out of the Opera Cup tournament due to injury. Smith was set to take on Tom Lawlor in the next round of the tournament.
Laurent then noted that TJP will be taking the place of Smith in the tournament and will face Lawlor at MLW Summer Of The Beasts on Thursday, August 29.
This will be TJP’s first time competing in an MLW ring since 2022.

There has been a major development in the 2024 Opera Cup, as TJP steps in to face "Filthy" Tom Lawlor in a quarterfinal match at Summer of the Beasts. This change comes following the unfortunate withdrawal of Davey Boy Smith Jr., who was forced out of the tournament due to injury.
The announcement, made earlier this week by Saint Laurent alongside Tom Lawlor and Davey Boy Smith Jr., revealed that Smith had suffered an injury during training, leaving a gap in the quarterfinals.
