Tom Campbell talks Jeff Jarrett.
In the lead up to AEW All In last year, Tom Campbell found himself in a position where he continiously wound up Jeff Jarrett by calling his faction "The Total Non-Stop Arseholes", calling back to the groups history in TNA.
While speaking to Fightful's Corey Brennan in a recent interview, Tom reflected on his history with Jarrett.
"Do you really think Jeff Jarrett's got the time and the energy? To take a call from a dickhead like me about why his team should be called the Total Non-stop Arseholes? Apparently he does everything else. I feel like he's got enough going on, to be honest. I tend to go on flights of fantasies. The thing is, I tend to go on these flights of fancy without really anybody letting me off the runway. Sometimes, and the one from last year was a love sample of that, was the stuff that we did with Grader. The last conversation was, that Jeff Jarrett and I engaged in. It was over a lovely cup of tea and it was in the press for heading to All In last year. What a lovely man, best friend, lovely guy. I got a lot of time for him. Then it was at that, it was at that pressure. He went, he left to talk sport together. That was where there was that great clip of Jarrett hitting Grado with a guitar at talk sport during the drive. So I came back going, lads, we've got a match set for All In. They're going to do Jarrett and Grado. Because why else would you do that? You know, it's not like me just going online and going, haha, total nonsense. Like, here's two professionals doing a thing in the public eye. So therefore, they're doing that. Then time carried on. And then it never got mentioned. So I was like, why aren't they talking about this? I think it was my good lady that went, well, why don't you talk about it? You have got a platform. Oh, yeah, I have, haven't I? So I just decided, and again, a flight of fancy that I had no permission to leave the runway with. I just started talking about Jarrett and Grado and making a fuss to get people to tweet Tony Khan and call him a coward for not booking it. I don't know. Now, they may have had something planned all along. They may have had something planned all along. But there was Grado at Wembley after we'd for weeks and weeks been paying, in the ass about it. Then I like to think that, oh, do you know what? Maybe we're a part of that. Then I kind of pull my head out of my own asshole and say, no, this is a massive company. They probably had stuff together. Then there's Jeff Jarrett on My World talking about the fact that I've been talking about it. So I was like, oh, well, maybe I did have something to say. I think that you do sometimes forget how much your stuff really permeates. Because as soon as Grado turned up, I was doing live reactions, and my reaction is there for all to see. I just remember seeing Jeff walk out. I went, there's no way. My little ticker's going. I'm like, there's no way. There he was and then my phone, I could feel on the side of me, I had to put it on airplane mode. Just da-ding, da-ding, da-ding, da-ding, da-ding. And then the chat, they're going, Tom, Sean Ross Sapp wants an interview. I said, tell him I'm busy. But I completely blew my voice out during the buy-in of Wembley. Then me and Fraser Porter sat and watched Wembley. I must admit, the whole Wembley thing was amazing. But I was spent just seeing Grado out there thinking, if we had anything to do with that, then I'm over the moon. Then turned out, according to Jeff, that there was a factor in it. I'd love to do stuff like that. I'd love the chance to do something like that with Jeff. I think that'd be good fun. But even if not, I think people have... People have had a laugh along with me with the Total Nonstop Arsehole stuff. I've enjoyed the creative outlet. I've enjoyed the creative freedom. Every so often, Jeff does give me a mention on my world and says that I probably need head surgery, which is very kind of him. Wvery so often, it'll just be a tweet that might just say, you need mental health. I'm going, thank you, Jeff. Thank you, best friend, Jeff. Karen's tweeted me a middle finger. So I'm number one in Karen Jarrett's book. I think that's an honor and a privilege."
Campbell continues to ring announce for North Wrestling, and he discussed his work with the British promotion more in his interview with Fightful, which you can find above.
