Tommaso Ciampa made it clear the bad blood between him and Johnny Gargano isn't over.
He made his return to NXT tonight following an epic match for the NXT championship between Andrade Cien Almas and Johnny Gargano. Unfortunately for Gargano, he came up short. Following the match, he was being helped to the back by his wife Candice LeRae. The trademark crawl was shown as the show was about to go off the air when Ciampa jumped Gargano from behind, blasting him with a crutch. Ciampa stared him down for a bit before making his exit, still noticeably limping and his knee in a brace.
Ciampa has been out of action since last May when he injured his ankle at a live event in Highland Heights, Kentucky. A few days later at NXT TakeOver: Chicago he ruptured his ACL during a ladder match between he and Gargano, collectively known as DIY, against the Authors of Pain. After the match, Ciampa turned on Gargano, destroying him and leaving him lying in a heap.
