Je'Von Evans and Trick Williams were the last men standing.
On the July 2 episode of WWE NXT, NXT Champion Trick Williams, Je'Von Evans, Ethan Page, and Shawn Spears came to the ring to sign the contract for their title match at NXT Heatwave. Each man shared their thoughts on the bout, with Page noting that the odds were not in Williams' favor and Trick saying that he came through every time his back was against the wall. Williams said he put in the work before he vowed to add another win to his resume.
Spears then expressed his confidence that he would win, and he said that Williams' emotion would be his downfall. He criticized Evans due to his young age, and Je'Von fired back by pointing out that Spears did not have any experience holding the NXT Championship. Williams praised Evans but said that nobody could take the title from him.
Tensions continued to rise, and the competitors brawled. Williams and Evans slammed Page and Spears through tables, and the two friends stood tall.
