Triple H Addresses Reports Of Matt Riddle And Brock Lesnar's Confrontation

Triple H isn't sure if the issues between Matt Riddle and Brock Lesnar are legitimate or if they are a work, and he doesn't care. He finds them entertaining all the same.

Speaking on the media call for NXT TakeOver: Portland, Triple H addressed the reports concerning a backstage confrontation between Brock Lesnar and Matt Riddle that reportedly occurred at the 2020 Royal Rumble event.

Triple H would say he has no confirmation as to whether or not the confrontation actually occurred, but regarding rumors that Vince McMahon was happy with Matt Riddle calling out Brock Lesnar on social media, Triple H would say Vince McMahon has never expressed displeasure over anything of the sort, and he is typically not shy about expressing displeasure of any kind.

“Look, I don't know. To be honest with you, I've not asked anybody about it. I'm not. No one has expressed their opinion,” Hunter began. “Certainly, Vince didn't express his disapproval of anything that that was said and I'm sure if there would have been an issue he would have called me directly. I've heard what you heard. There was a conversation between the two or whatever and Matt's Matt, Brock's Brock. [If] they had a conversation, that's between them. They are grown adults. So they had a conversation, if they did whatever they decided amongst themselves, you know, to be honest, sometimes I read some of that and I'm like, 'is this a work? Is this legit?' I don't care either way from that standpoint. I'm entertained by it. And you know if somebody has a problem with it [and] they come to me, then I'll help deal with the problem, but right now, it is what it is.”

Furthermore, Triple H would say that Matt Riddle is an amazing performer and for him, the sky is the limit, but for now, any business he has regarding himself and Brock Lesnar will stay between them. Triple H would leave the door open for something more to potentially come of this.

“Matt is an incredibly talented performer. He's very vocal. He has his own personality and his own viewpoint on things and that's a great thing. Matt also is a guy that-- I think Brock is of the opinion, my guess would be, that 'if you're going to if you're going to write checks, you've got to be willing to cash 'em,' and I think Matt writes checks that he can cash in his mind. So, who knows. We'll see where it goes. But the sky's the limit for Matt Riddle as a performer. And we'll see where it all goes,” Hunter concluded.
