Triple H is ready to create an empire.
It's no secret by now that WWE is more than a wrestling company. The term "professional wrestling" has been replaced by "sports entertainment" as WWE has expanded to movies, television, video games, and so much more. And the way WWE Executive Vice President Triple H sees it, WWE will be on the level of Disney and Marvel in the next couple of decades.
"I feel like we're just scratching the surface," Triple H told Pat McAfee on McAfee's new show on DAZN. "Vince will say all the time, 'One of these days, we're going to be an overnight sensation.' As big as it is now, when you go 20-30 years down the line, you're really going to start to look at it as the way people [look at] Marvel or Disney. Disney not just about cartoons or princess movies, it's so much more than that. Marvel is not just a paper comic book company anymore. Where WWE is headed is as a global brand. It is now, but it'll be so much more in the future."
WWE's latest expansion plans include their own podcast network and a tiered WWE Network. Triple H has discussed his plans for "global localization" many times, which is the expansion of NXT into new markets across the world.
