Could NXT be moving to a FOX network?
With WWE moving to FOX in October, fans have wondered what that could mean for the NXT brand. There has been a lot of speculation that NXT could move to FS1 at some point, but nothing has been confirmed. On Friday morning, Triple H did confirm that WWE would be bringing a studio show to FOX Sports 1 when the FOX move is official.
Following NXT TakeOver: New York on Friday, Triple H participated in his post-TakeOver media call and offered more details on the WWE studio show while hinting at NXT's future.
"The opportunities are there for a lot of things. I know there's a lot of interest in NXT as a brand. Both (NXT and NXT UK). There's a lot of interest in it but it's a very valuable commodity to the (WWE) Network as well. It's the number one and number two most watched thing on the Network by far. Outside of pay-per-views," said Triple H. "Is (going to FOX/FS1) an opportunity? Absolutely. You see that with today when I was on FS1 and we announced the (studio show). It'll be a recap show where they analyze different shows: Raw, SmackDown, and NXT. They'll discuss all those shows. A cross between UFC Tonight and Talking Dead. They really want NXT to be a big piece of that, which shows you the interest level."
WWE's first show on FOX will be Oct. 4 when SmackDown moves to Fridays. As for now, NXT and NXT UK will remain on the WWE Network.
