The Undertaker, Chris Jericho, And More Celebrate Matt Hardy's 30 Years In Professional Wrestling

The Undertaker and other noteworthy names celebrate Matt Hardy's 30th anniversary in the wrestling business.

Hardy debuted in 1992, and he started working for the WWE as an enhancement talent in 1994. Eventually, he and his brother Jeff signed with the company in 1998. They went on to become an iconic tag team, The Hardy Boyz, and the duo has won gold all over the wrestling world. Hardy has also starred as a singles competitor; he is a former TNA World Heavyweight Champion. Hardy is currently a member of the AEW roster; he most recently competed on the October 14 episode of AEW Rampage.

During the latest episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, several active stars and legends in the wrestling business commented on Hardy's milestone and congratulated him. Among others, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle sent some kind words and noted that he always knew Hardy would be something special.

Angle: "I wanna congratulate you on 30 years in the wrestling business. It seems like yesterday that you and I were training at the Dory Funkin Dojo. Back then, I knew you’d be something special. But little did I know that you would go on to become one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. Congratulations on 30 years in the wrestling business, Matt. I love you, man."

Former AEW World Champion and current ROH World Champion Chris Jericho wishes Hardy well. As a fellow member of the three-decade club, he recognized the significance of the accomplishment and commended Hardy on the ways he has reinvented himself.

Jericho: "Matty, Chris Jericho here. Just congratulating you on 30 years in the wrestling business. That is unbelievable. There’s not a lot of us that have made the 30-year club, and here you are, and deservedly so. always innovating, always upgrading, always updating. You’ve really figured it out, man, on how to stay relevant in the pro wrestling business after 30 fucking years. Don’t take that for granted, man. Trust me, it’s quite the accomplishment. More importantly, you’re a good guy, one of my favorite people in the business. Always get a pleasure hanging out with you, all the great times we’ve had and so many more great times to come. So congratulations. I love you, man. I respect you, and you, much like me, have a never-ending addiction to the pro wrestling business, and that will never die, and it will never go away. Matt Hardy will never die. Hologram, baby. Cheers, man. Congratulations, dude. I love you."

The Undertaker also congratulated Hardy. He recalled how Matt came to the WWE when he was only a teenager. He noted that Hardy's 30 years are an amazing accomplishment, and he said Matt is far from being done.

Undertaker: “Hey Matt, it’s Take. Man, I just wanted to reach out and say congratulations. 30 years is quite the accomplishment, man. Just really amazing. I remember you and your brother, when you first came in back in the day, couple of teenagers. Now you are, 30 years later. 30 years in any business is an accomplishment, but to stay relevant in our industry is a real huge accomplishment. I just wanted to reach out and say congratulations, job well done, and you’re a long way from being done. Anyway buddy, I hope you’re doing well and again, from the bottom of my heart, congratulations on an amazing 30 years."

Hardy recently passed Stokely Hathaway's entrant exam and discussed his love for the culture. He also revealed that he competed in a rap contest when he was 17. More information is available here.
