Undertaker Jokes That He'd Still Be Wrestling If He'd Gotten A Tour Bus And More Sleep In The '90s

The Undertaker provides the lighthearted take that perhaps getting a tour bus sooner would have added even more years to his three-decade career as a WWE wrestler.

The culture in WWE has changed a lot since the early to mid-90s where The Undertaker rose to prominence. This is in large part due to the fact that the world has changed so much in the last three decades.

Speaking on his Six Feet Under podcast, Mark "The Undertaker" Calaway reflected on how much the advent of tour buses has increased longevity for WWE Superstars.

"There's a lot of talent buses, you got crew buses. Hell, there's 30 semis full of their sets," said Undertaker.

When asked if he believes talent is still gathering in the locker rooms in the way that they used to back when he was a top star, Undertaker said he wasn't sure but he doesn't think so and doesn't blame the talent.

"I don't think so. I mean, why would you, really? Yeah, I mean, there is something to camaraderie and all of that, but —"

Speaking about his own time on a tour bus, 'Taker says most of that was for after his matches so that he could take better care of himself. He would go on to say that he believes he would have had higher quality matches and lasted longer as a performer had he taken those precautionary measures sooner in his career.

"I would have had higher quality matches, I would have I think I mean, even I lasted for as long as I did. I think I might have even lasted longer if I had been able to take that kind of care of myself. The struggle for me those last seven-eight years, it was just health. There was nothing really that happened or could happen that I didn't feel I had a grasp on how to handle it or how to make it work. That part was second nature at that point, but physically trying to perform and keep myself at a level where I could perform."

Undertaker even jokes that had he gotten the bus sooner and just a few more nights of sleep in the 90s and maybe he's still wrestling at a high level right now.

"If I got on the bus sooner, and maybe slept a few more nights in the 90s? Hell, I might be still wrestling right now. Yeah, at a high level," he joked. "It would have helped, but the 90s, I started in a hole."

Undertaker hasn't wrestled since facing AJ Styles in the Boneyard Match at WWE WrestleMania 36.

Undertaker recently noted that the culture backstage in WWE is much calmer with Triple H at the helm. He even says that it's almost too calm for him. Read more here.
