UPDATE: AJ Styles Ankle Injury Not As Serious As First Feared

UPDATE: Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer is now reporting that AJ Styles suffered a "minor ankle injury" during the main event of TLC on Sunday Night.

(It's unclear how this will affect Styles, if at all, in his match with James Ellsworth on Tuesday night.)

ORIGINAL ARTICLE:

It appears as though AJ Styles may have suffered a possibly serious injury in the main event of WWE TLC last night.

After retaining his WWE World Championship by defeating Dean Ambrose (with help from James Ellsworth) in the TLC match which closed the show, Styles celebrated until the broadcast went off the air. Once the show ended, he fell to the mat and a trainer came running down to tend to him. Another trainer was checking on Ambrose, who had fallen off the ladder through four tables outside of the ring to end the match. According sources at ringside, Styles was speaking to the trainer about his right foot and could be seen trying to move it around. Styles did walk out under his own power, as fans gave him a standing ovation, but he was noticeably limping.

Ambrose was reportedly rushed to the back by WWE trainers. There has been no confirmation of injuries to either man but if and when a statement is released, we will keep you updated.

And now, because the world is made dark and cold by the very idea of an injured AJ Styles missing The Royal Rumble or, God forbid, Wrestlemania, we hope you will indulge us as we stare out the window at a gray and unforgiving landscape with no hope of happiness on the horizon.

Please be okay, AJ.
