Velveteen Dream had his return match quickly pulled.
SWF Wrestling announced Velveteen Dream would appear at their “Home Sweet Home” event on September 11.
Dream was released by WWE on May 20. Dream was accused by underage fans of sexual misconduct in April 2020, which he denied, and again during the Speaking Out movement in mid-June, which he did not comment on, and was involved in a car accident in late June as well.
He has not wrestled since the December 23, 2020 episode of NXT where he lost to Adam Cole.
After backlash over the announcement, SWF pulled him from the show.
SWF Owner Rob Fury gave the following statement:
“Tonight we announced Velveteen Dream would be appearing at our Home Sweet Home event. I believe any man can be slandered and have been through other situations in my life unrelated but untrue. After careful consideration, Dream has been removed.”
