Von Wagner Doesn't Like Pistachio Ice Cream, Duke Hudson Schools Javier Bernal | NXT Fight Size

Here's your Fight Size update following WWE NXT on May 9, 2023.

- Robert Stone kept trying to get Von Wagner to open up, but he only angered the powerhouse. During the conversation, it became clear that Wagner doesn't like pistachio ice cream.

- Javier Bernal approached Thea Hail and wound up bumping into Duke Hudson. Hail got excited after she did well on an assignment. Bernal hinted at Hudson’s master plan and noted that Andre Chase would never see it coming. Hudson reminded him that he was simply filling in for Chase. Hudson challenged Bernal to a match. Despite a valiant effort from Bernal, Hudson emerged victorious.

- Bron Breakker was asked about his recent behavior, and he said that he hadn't had a change in attitude but he just stopped caring about the fans. Later, an on-screen graphic confirmed that he will challenge NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes at NXT Battleground.

- The Dyad (Jagger Reid & Rip Fowler) challenged Gallus (Mark Coffey and Wolfgang) for the NXT Tag Team Championship. Joe Gacy was not at ringside for the match. Tony D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo watched on. During the match, the Creed Brothers (Brutus and Julius Creed) were watching the match backstage. Ava interfered, and Ivy Nile took her out. The Creed Brothers carried Ivy away, and Gallus clinched the win.

- The NXT Women’s Championship Tournament began with a match between Tiffany Stratton and Gigi Dolin. Stratton emerged victorious, so she will advance to the next round.

- A vignette recapped the series of attacks in the NXT parking lot, and a mysterious figure watched on.

- Dijak battled Ilja Dragunov in a hard-hitting match. Dragunov took control, and Dijak got a chair. He hit Dragunov, and the referee called for the bell. Dijak continued to attack Dragunov after the bell and crushed him with the steel steps.

- Lyra Valkyria defeated Kiana James to advance to the next round of the NXT Women's Championship Tournament.

- Bron Breakker defeated Trick Williams. He attacked Williams after the bell, and when NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes tried to make the save, Breaker left him lying too.

- Eddy Thorpe faced Damon Kemp. They went back and forth in a competitive match, and Thorpe scored the win.

- Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen reunited and defeated Hank Walker and Tank Ledger. During the match, Ledger seemingly lost a tooth.

- Tyler Bate took on Charlie Dempsey. Bate had NXT North American Champion Wes Lee in his corner, and Drew Gulak cornered Dempsey. In the end, Joe Gacy interfered and helped Dempsey steal the win.

- Noam Dar offered Dragon Lee the chance to appear on the return of the Supernova Sessions, and Lee accepted.

- Nathan Frazer presented the latest edition of Nathan Frazer’s Hard Hitting Home Truths. He commented on the NXT Draft and noted that NXT was like a melting pot, given its diverse range of talent. Frazer brought up Noam Dar and noted that he made his first TV appearance on the Supernova Sessions. Frazer called Dar a fraud and laughed at a clip of Dragon Lee kicking Dar. He then made it clear that he has his sights set on Dar.

- The Creed Brothers (Julius & Brutus Creed) confronted Gallus (Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey, and Wolfgang) backstage.

- Tony D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo challenged NXT Tag Team Champions Gallus (Wolfgang and Mark Coffey) to a title match. Joe Coffey told them to leave, but D’Angelo warned him that they’d get the title match anyway.

- In an NXT Exclusive, Joe Gacy noted that he intends to enlighten NXT North American Champion Wes Lee, as he told the champion that Tyler Bate is not his true friend. Gacy also stated that he wants the title.

- James Drake commented on The Dyad's performance.

- Dijak shared a picture of a fan that went viral during his match.
