Wade Barrett is excited about the new Roman Reigns.
Roman Reigns started a new chapter when he returned at WWE SummerSlam, as he turned babyface and began feuding with Solo Sikoa. Since then, he has reunited with Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, and most recently, Sami Zayn. The group will face Solo Sikoa's Bloodline in a WarGames match at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames.
Speaking with AceOdds, WWE SmackDown commentator Wade Barrett was asked to comment on how important character evolution was in maintaining a wrestler's dominance, especially with someone like Roman Reigns.
"It is important, sometimes shows can get stagnant. When you keep doing the same thing over and over again, showing the same faces over and over again, the same match-ups, showing the same character. There are people, historically, who have not changed characters in 10 or 15 years. To me, it becomes a bit wearisome watching the same routine over and over again. It's like a band that releases 10 albums and the 10th album sounds exactly like the first one. What you guys didn't learn any new chords or you didn't learn any new rhythms or anything like that? Like you've got to change things up. And I always enjoyed the characters who can be something very different from the thing they were previously. I'm really enjoying this Bloodline stuff because it felt several times like the story over the last few years, it's about to run out of steam. Oh no, they've come up with this now, Solo Sikoa is here, and now Jacob Fatu, and look Roman Reigns is back, but he's the guy with no power and he's going to have to be humbled now. They always find a way to keep me hooked back in. I think Roman is going to be crucial to that. I'm interested to see how he fits in with the Uso twins that he kind of treated like dirt for several years and now he has to make amends with them and not treat them quite so badly anymore. So, seeing that side of Roman, to me, is very exciting," Barrett said.
