Wade Barrett: When Stars Like Roman Reigns Lose, Their Value In The Loss Decreases Every Time

Wade Barrett says it's important to maintain Roman Reigns' value.

At WWE Crown Jewel, Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, and Jimmy Uso faced Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, and Tama Tonga in a high-profile match. In the end, Sikoa scored the upset by pinning Reigns himself.

Speaking with AceOdds ahead of WWE Crown Jewel, Wade Barrett was asked whether a loss would potentially affect Roman Reigns' career.

"Yeah, it's always difficult when you have a star the size and level of Roman Reigns. You don't want to see those guys losing often because every time they lose, their value in the loss decreases. It gets to a point where I think we saw John Cena a few years ago losing every match he had. Whenever he came back, he would lose. Okay, well, it doesn't actually mean anything when you beat John Cena now because almost everyone on the roster has beaten him at this point. You have to keep it important but similarly, I think if Roman does end up taking a loss here, it just serves as a warning. Hey, everything you thought you had in this industry, you were the top dog, you're no longer that guy. What are you going to do to make sure you can climb back up the mountain and become number one again? It's going to add fuel to Roman Reigns and his motivation to reconquer this industry," Barrett said.
