Wes Lee will be out of action for 8-12 months.
Wes Lee, unfortunately, announced on the December 5 episode of NXT that he will be needing surgery, saying that he currently doesn't have feeling in his legs. As a result, he will be unable to challenge Dominik Mysterio for the NXT North American Championship at NXT Deadline.
Dom came out to mock his would-be challenger but was informed by Lee that he would, in fact, still be defending his title on December 9. That's when Mysterio was greeted by a video from his father, Rey Mysterio, who informed his son that Dragon Lee would be challenging him at Deadline.
This led to Dragon Lee returning to NXT and attacking Dominik Mysterio. It was later revealed on commentary that Wes Lee could miss up to a year of action due to his impending surgery.
