The debut of Sting on AEW Dynamite shocked fans and wrestlers alike and Will Hobbs had a front-row seat for the arrival.
Hobbs was part of the Team Taz beatdown on Cody, Dustin Rhodes, Darby Allin, and Arn Anderson when winter arrived in the form of Sting on Wednesday. As Sting made his way to the ring, Hobbs, Brian Cage, Taz, and Ricky Starks scattered.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Hobbs recalled his reaction to seeing Sting on Dynamite.
"I'm very happy. Shit shocked the hell out of me. It was almost unreal. I'm just standing there like, 'Oh my God, oh my God.' It was like an out of body experience. Growing up watching Sting over the years, when I saw him come out, I was like, 'We gotta bounce.' That shit was unexpected. It almost sounded like it was a full arena. I'm yelling 'Oh my God!' and I could barely hear myself. It was the loudest I have ever heard that place," he said.
Hobbs clarified that he hasn't been in a packed Daily's Place, but he was there when AEW allowed fans for All Out and believed Wednesday was a louder reaction.
In a different interview with Living The Gimmick, The Young Bucks gave the backstage reaction to Sting's arrival. You can find their full comments by clicking here.
