Get ready Hollywood!
The transition for pro wrestlers to the movie screen has been one that has become a formality of sorts. Names such as Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, John Cena, Dave Bautista, Stone Cold Steve Austin and recently CM Punk and AJ Lee have all dipped their hands into the world of acting. More and more former wrestlers and even those who are still active in the ring are beginning to venture into acting as exampled by the film 'WrestleMassacre' which was put together by 'Fuzzy Monkey Films' director Brad Twigg and executive producer Gary Lee Vincent. The film features four names who are well-known in the pro wrestling world.
Those names being: Sandman, WWE Hall Of Famer Tony Atlas, Renee Dupree, former NWA Florida Television Champion Manny Fernandez and the late Nikolai Volkoff who passed who this past July. The world premiere of the film takes place tomorrow night on the Allegheny River Boulevard in Pennsylvania. The film is about a groundskeeper who is looking to establish his name as a professional wrestler but things do not exactly go his way and during an interview with 'TribLive', director Brad Twigg broke down the synopsis of the film:
“Everybody treats him like garbage,” Twigg said. “He gets no respect … He falls in love with one of his clients. He gets delusional thinking that she has feelings for him when she’s just trying to be a nice person. He wants to impress her and follow in his father’s footsteps.”
The main character "Randy" continues to be humiliated until he snaps and goes on a killing spree and the only way that he will stop is if he receives the love of the aforementioned woman that he has feelings for, "Becky" who is played by Rosanna Nelson. The pro wrestlers listed in the earlier sections of this article will make appearances during the film but the durations of their appearances are unknown.
