WWE 2K25 Gameplay Producer Bryan Williams comments on the possibility of bringing The Island to PC in the future.
WWE 2K25 will feature a brand-new open-world mode called "The Island." Unfortunately for users of last-generation consoles and PC, the mode is restricted to PS5 and Xbox Series platforms.
Restart recently interviewed WWE 2K25 Gameplay Producer Bryan Williams about this. While acknowledging that things could always change in the coming years, Williams says it boils down to hardware restrictions and ensuring the best possible experience for this brand-new mode.
"The short answer is just that: hardware limitations of the older consoles, mixed with various hardware specs that people have playing on PC. To get the most optimal and the best experience, it was just being that restricting it to the current consoles of the PS5 and Xbox Series X was going to provide us with the best experience in our first year. Now, again, I emphasize first year. Maybe moving forward, we kind of figured the things out [with] these restrictions, we can come back to them, and investigate whether or not we can, you know, allow the island for everything. But for this first year, it's one of those things where you only get one time to make a good first impression, right? So, we wanted The Island to be as good as it could possibly be. iI order to ensure that, we had to institute this restriction on where you could play it."

WWE 2K25 will be released on March 14 for the general public and on March 7 for those who pre-ordered the two deluxe variants.
