WWE 2K25 gameplay changes are spotlighted, with the game set to release in a little over a month.
2K Games has put out a new Ringside Report on WWE 2K25. The report reveals several changes made to the upcoming game, including an update to the submission system, which sees the return of the submission wheel as opposed to a button-mashing system. However, 2K Games has stated that players can change their controls back to button-mashing if that is what they prefer.
"We’ve taken updated our Submission Mini-Game to offer an alternative to the button-mashing option.
In WWE 2K25, you can now switch things up and use the slider-based mini-game which prompts players to use the left and right triggers to move the slide around the circle shown on-screen.
Your opponent will, of course, try to move their slider out of the way while it’s up to you to try and overlap it to either escape (if you’re on the receiving end) or get them to tap out (if you’re on offense).
The button mash option is still there, of course, for those who prefer that method.
There's also an update to how Ladder Matches are played and won. There is now a timer that players have to beat when rapidly pressing the button on-screen while reaching for the briefcase or championship above the ring. Also, players can now hit signature and finishing moves off of a ladder again.
Intergender matches will also see plenty of options, including Casket Matches and multi-person matches, all of which are available for intergender options for the first time in over a decade. Custom championship belts will also be able to have an intergender setting.

More details will be released soon. The game will be released on March 14, and players who pre-ordered the deluxe editions will get access on March 7.
