Humberto Carrillo will have a follow-up evaluation on Thursday following the attack by Andrade on WWE Raw.
WWE issued the storyline update on Carrillo on Wednesday.
Carrillo was taken out on a stretcher after receiving a Hammerlock DDT onto the concrete floor. In the update, Andrade is named as the winner of the Gauntlet Match, which was to determine the next challenger for the WWE United States Title. The update states Andrade will receive a future US Title match.
On Raw, it was unclear who, if anyone, won the match. Following the angle, Seth Rollins came out and challenged Mysterio to a US Title match, which Mysterio accepted. The two men are set to meet on the Dec. 23 WWE Raw.
Following the brutal attack from Andrade on Raw, Humberto Carrillo was treated at a local medical facility, allowed to fly home and will have a follow up evaluation Thursday morning, WWE.com has learned.
During Raw’s Gauntlet Match to determine the next challenger for the United States Championship, Carrillo defeated Ricochet and was supposed to battle Andrade in the next contest. However, Andrade attacked right from the start, driving Carrillo onto the exposed concrete with a Hammerlock DDT, giving Andrade the victory and a future United States Title opportunity. Despite the loss and the attack, Carrillo took to Twitter on Tuesday morning to put his nemesis on notice.
