Xavier Woods might have pulled some strings to get the New Day drafted to WWE Raw.
Moments after the New Day (Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston) were drafted to Raw during Night Two of the WWE Draft, Woods took to Twitter and revealed a presumably fake Twitter conversation with Vince McMahon himself. In the exchange, Woods shaved his mustache off at the request of McMahon. This seemingly made McMahon happy, as he noted he would put in a word to get Woods and Kingston drafted to Raw.

Woods, Kingston, and their currently inactive stablemate Big E have been on the SmackDown brand since 2017. Together, the trio have won the SmackDown Tag Team Championships on seven different occasions.
