Zac Efron: Shout Out To All The Wrestlers Out There, I Have The Utmost Respect For The Sport

Zac Efron talks his relationship with professional wrestling as a child.

Most wrestling fans are introduced to the sport as children, with a good portion of the product being aimed at a younger audience, particularly since WWE went PG in the early 2010s.

On the red carpet for "The Iron Claw", in which Efron plays Kevin Von Erich, Chris Van Vliet asked Efron what his relationship with wrestling was like as a child. Efron explained that his parents didn't like having wrestling on the TV because he and his younger brother would start "going at it" right after.

"It's interesting I didn't get that into it when i was younger, my parents didn't like having it on because me and my little brother and I would get into it right after, so they didn't like us jumping off the couch and fighting." Efron said.

Despite not being as familiar of the sport, Efron noted that while working on "The Iron Claw" he became fascinated by the sport.

"Now after of course, this story and telling this story, I'm fascinated with the sport and shout out to all the wrestlers out there, all the warriors out there man. It's such a difficult sport but all those guys out there... I have just the utmost respect for the sport. So, soon to be an even bigger fan."

"The Iron Claw" is set to be in theatres in the US on December 22nd.

Recently, the main cast members of the movie were asked if they would step into the ring. You can read more about that here.
