Zack Sabre Jr. reflects on his recent run.
Sabre Jr. won the NJPW G1 Climax 34, and he won the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at NJPW King of Pro-Wrestling in October. He headlined NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 19, where he successfully defended the title against Shota Umino. Sabre Jr. then beat Ricochet to retain the title at NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty.
NJPW's website shared Zack Sabre Jr.'s comments at a press conference following Wrestle Kingdom weekend.
"[I've] had the best career year and the best few months of any wrestler in the world," Sabre Jr. said.
Sabre Jr. also looked to the future and said that he would "set a precedent as a defending champion." Additionally, he stated that he was eager to take his title and represent NJPW at NJPW's global partners. Sabe Jr. stated that he wanted to compete as the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion at NJPW x AEW Forbidden Door in London.
