This is the Fightful.com live coverage for tonight's episode of WWE Smackdown! Live. Tonight the WWE United States Championship tournament continues as Jinder Mahal faces Xavier Woods and Bobby Roode faces Mojo Rawley in two semi-final matches. We also have Charlotte, Naomi and Becky Lynch taking on the Riott Squad and much more so be sure to come back here at 8 PM EST for all of the action and be sure to check out the post show podcast afterwards!
-We open the show with New Day and Xavier talking about his match against Jinder tonight with the winner going on to the finals of the WWE United States Championship tournament next week. Jinder comes out and interrupts them and gets in the ring, he and the Singhs playing to the crowd until Kofi and Big-E leave to ringside.
WWE United States Championship Tournament Semi-Final Match
Xavier Woods vs Jinder Mahal
Jinder immediately drops Xavier with a boot before choking him in the ropes and hitting a snapmare into several knees in the back and a knee drop. Xavier fights back only to be dropped with a back elbow for a quick two count, then Xavier dropkicks Jinder in the corner, only to be caught coming in and dropped with an elbow. Jinder then hits a huge splash for a quick two count as we go to commercial.
Xavier fights back as we come back from commercial brieflly before Jinder clotheslines him for a quick two count, then Jinder sends Xavier out of the ring after beating on him, Xavier barely getting back in the ring in time. Jinder whips Xavier across the ring and puts on a modified camel clutch before dropping Xavier with a jumping knee for a near fall as we go to commercial.
Xavier hits a missile dropkick as we come back from commercial, then drops Jinder repeatedly before hitting an enzuigiri and a sliding PK for a near fall. New Day get rid of the Singhs at ringside before Xavier misses the springboard elbow drop and Jinder tosses him into the bottom rope throat first. Jinder then hits the Khallas for the pin and the win after New Day run the Singhs to the back.
Winner: Jinder Mahal defeats Xavier Woods via pinfall with the Khallas to get into the finals of the WWE United States Championship tournament next week.
-We get a promo by Baron where he says that he's going to win the Royal Rumble, then a video package for Goldberg going into the WWE Hall of Fame before finishing with an interview with AJ Styles and every Smackdown! Live member of the women's roster talking about how they're going to each win the women's Royal Rumble.
WWE United States Championship Tournament Semi-Final Match
Bobby Roode vs Mojo Rawley
They lock up to start the match for a clean break before Roode drops him and plays to the crowd. Mojo drops Roode when he is busy playing to the crowd before tackling Bobby and sending him out of the ring and into the barricade as we go to commercial.
Mojo is in control as we come back from commercial, dropping Bobby with a boot before backing him into the corner and shoulder tackling him until the referee makes him back off. Mojo puts Roode in an abdominal stretch that he fights out of before sending Mojo shoulder first into the ring post. Roode then hits a blockbuster from the second rope for a near fall before finishing with the Glorious DDT for the pin and the win.
Winner: Bobby Roode defeats Mojo Rawley via pinfall with the Glorious DDT to advance to the finals of the WWE United States Championship tournament next week.
-After the match the Singh brothers attack Bobby before he sends them out of the ring and Jinder cuts a promo at the top of the ramp. Daniel Bryan then comes out and says that the finals will be later tonight as we go to commercial.
Six-Woman Tag Match
Liv and Charlotte start the match off before Charlotte pushes Liv to the mat repeatedly until she tags Ruby in. Charlotte takes Ruby down and rolls her around the ring before tagging Becky in, Becky and Charlotte double teaming Ruby. Naomi tags in and clotheslines Ruby before Becky tags back in and sends Ruby off of the apron and to the floor as we go to commercial.
Ruby is in control as we come back from commercial, Ruby tagging Liv in before Becky manages to tag Naomi in. Naomi drops Liv repeatedly before hitting a springboard dropkick, then everyone hits a move before Liv hits her finisher for the pin and the win.
Winner: Liv Morgan via pinfall
-The Usos are then attacked backstage by Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin as we go to commercial.
WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament Final Match
Bobby Roode vs Jinder Mahal
They lock up to start the match for a clean break before Roode chops Jinder and stumbles him with a right hand. Jinder drops Bobby before stomping him in the corner, then they take turns smashing each other's faces into the top turnbuckle. Roode hits a series of punches in the corner before sending Jinder out of the ring, then Jinder backs Roode into the apron and sends him into the steps. Jinder then dumps Roode onto the barricade sand plays to the crowd as we go to commercial.
Jinder stretches Bobby around the ring post as we come back from commercial, then Jinder keeps focusing on his ribs until he drops Roode with a knee for a near fall. Roode sends Jinder out of the ring before hitting a cross body oonce he's back in the ring, but Jinder rolls through for a near fall. Bobby hits a blockbuster off of the top for a near fall before they clothesline each other, then they counter each other until Roode hits the Glorious DDT for the pin and the win.
Winner: Bobby Roode defeats Jinder Mahal via pinfall with the Glorious DDT to become the new WWE United States champion.
