Not everybody has the ability to travel to the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada to check out the boxing super fight between UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather.
If you would rather sit in the comfort of your home to watch the encounter, then it is going to cost you a pretty penny to check out the event via pay-per-view.
That’s because the pay-per-view event is going to cost you $89.95 to watch in standard definition and $99.95 to watch in high definition.
While it is arguably a high price for a boxing event, those are the same prices that were charged to fans who wanted to watch the Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao bout a few years back.
According to UFC President Dana White, the price is more than worth it to watch the clash between the promotion’s star fighter and the boxing great.
“When you talk about superfights, this is a superfight – two different guys from two different sports going in and putting it on the line,” he said to MMA Junkie. “Obviously, you can’t charge what you would normally charge for a pay-per-view. And saying there was pushback on the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight, there was anything but – it’s the biggest fight ever in the history of pay-per-view.”
Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather takes place on Saturday, August 26 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
