2018 Warrior Award Recipient Announced

Jarrius Robertson will be the fourth recipient of WWE's Warrior award.

Each year at the WWE Hall of Fame induction, WWE has given the Warrior award to the person they believe "has exhibited unwavering strength and perseverance and who lives life with the courage and compassion." This year's recipient was announced on WWE.com as being Jarrius "JJ" Robertson.

The 15 year old Robertson has received dozens of surgeries including two liver transplants. While being afflicted with a liver disease called biliary atresia, Robertson has used his time to remain positive and to promote organ donation. He told WWE.com he is honored to receive the award.

“I can’t believe I have been chosen to be the 2018 Warrior Award recipient. Being honored by WWE means the world to me. I feel very blessed," said Robertson.

The widow of the Ultimate Warrior, Dana Warrior will present Robertson with the award on April 6th during the 2018 WWE Hall of Fame inductions. Dana Warrior explained to WWE.com why Robertson is a worthy recipient of the award.

“It is a privilege to present Jarrius with this year’s Warrior Award at the WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. He lives every day with the Warrior spirit and is an inspiration to people of all ages,” said Dana Warrior.

Stephanie McMahon and WWE met Robertson in 2013 when announcing New Orleans as the venue for Wrestlemania 30. McMahon stayed in touch with Robertson and reconnected with him again last year when WWE announced New Orleans as Wrestlemania 34's venue. At that time, Robertson received a WWE Hero award from WWE before a Smackdown Live Event. McMahon said she was drawn to Robertson by his infectious attitude and enthusiasm for wrestling.

Robertson tweeted a video response to being announced as the recipient.
