Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Chuck Liddell retired after a knockout loss to former UFC Middleweight Champion Rich Franklin at UFC 117.
However, rumors of a return have been spreading lately and some recent posts on Twitter by Chael Sonnen have made it seem like the two would clash in the Bellator MMA cage.

Despite the Twitter posts from Sonnen, the former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion says the fight between the two isn’t happening.
“I’ve never been very interested in fighting him,” Liddell told TMZ Sports. “He’s kind of a boring fighter. I mean, it’s a great matchup for me if we’re gonna fight but I haven’t talked to anybody about anything. It’s an easy matchup. . . He ain’t gonna take me down and lay on me.”
If the fight does take place down the line, it would be the first time Liddell has fought outside of the UFC auspices in over fourteen years.
