Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Chuck Liddell has been teasing a return to action for quite some time now.
Liddell recently took part in a celebrity edition of CBS Big Brother and the fighter wanted to stay in shape during the show in case a potential comeback to the cage would take place afterwards.
“It’s still a possibility, for sure,” said Liddell to TMZ Sports. “So I didn’t want to get too far out of shape. I was in there boxing the whole time. There’s a lot of stuff that they didn’t show but I was just having a good time in there and staying in shape. I’m staying ready.”
The former champion hasn’t competed since UFC 115, where he was knocked out by former UFC Middleweight Champion Rich Franklin.
If Liddell were to make the comeback, two potential opponents he would like to fight are former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Tito Ortiz and Chael Sonnen.
“I’ve said it before in the news, Chael would be a good warmup fight to get back into it,” said Liddell. “Tito would be great if he’d even consider fighting me. I hear he wouldn’t. He doesn’t want to fight me at all. He’ll fight other people but not me, of course.”
Sonnen had been open to a potential bout with Liddell in the past, while Ortiz has been against a third fight with his longtime rival.
