Colby Covington made a lot of enemies when he called the Brazilian people “filthy animals” after a win at UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo.
One of those enemies is former UFC Heavyweight Champion Fabricio Werdum, who got into it with Covington at a hotel in Sydney, Australia.
Two videos of the incident popped up, although none of those videos show what started the altercation between the two.
The first of the two videos, shot by UFC fighter Dan Hooker and posted on Facebook, show Covington get hit by a boomerang thrown by Werdum.
Werdum claims he initially tried to punch Covington because the welterweight fighter kicked him and called him a “Brazilian animal.”
“I didn’t punch his face, because he had a lot of guys in the middle,” Werdum said to MMA Junkie. “I no punch him. I no touch him. I have a video. This is bullshit. This guy’s a liar. I wanted to punch him, because he kicked me. But I just dropped his phone, because he called me a ‘Brazilian animal.’ I don’t know why he said that. It’s too much. This guy’s a crazy guy.”
The former UFC Heavyweight Champion is just a few days away from fighting Marcin Tybura in the main event of UFC Fight Night Sydney.
A second video would surface and it was actually shot by Covington through Facebook Live, it shows the tail end of the altercation between the two fighters.
Here is what Covington can be heard saying in the video (transcript by MMA Junkie):
“Look at this f*cking clown! You’re a f*cking clown, Fabricio Werdum!” Covington says. “You’re a filth … yeah, what’s up? You just punched me in the face! You wanna come punch me again, b*tch! What? What? Yeah, you think you’re so tough! Look at you, f*cking f*****! That’s right! You’re a little b*tch! What? I’m gonna see you soon! I’m gonna see you soon, motherf*cker! You’re old, motherf*cker! You ain’t shit! F*ck Brazil. F*ck Fabricio Werdum. Little b*tch ass. F*ck Brazil. A bunch of filthy animals. And they wonder why they get talked to like that. Because they’re a bunch of animals.”
In the video, the welterweight fighter accuses Werdum of punching him in the face, but the only physical contact shown in either video is Werdum throwing the boomerang at his newfound enemy. Also, the welterweight fighter in Covington is heard using a homophobic slur as he called Werdum a “f*cking f*ggot.”
After finding out about the altercation between two of the promotions contracted fighters, the UFC issued the following statement on the matter:
“UFC was made aware of the altercation between Fabricio Werdum and Colby Covington at the organization’s host hotel in Sydney, Australia. The organization will conduct a full investigation to determine if the Athlete Conduct Policy was violated before taking any further action on this matter.”
Another person that Covington has taken aim at is former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones, who also issued a statement of his own through Twitter:
I despise racism , good job today @FabricioWerdum dude had the audacity to call you a "faggot" as he's backing up on Facebook live. ----

Covington has since specified that he's pressing charges on Werdum, telling MMAFighting “He f*cked up,” Covington said. “There’s video and I speak the truth. He will be exposed soon, probably end up in Australia prison. He wrote a check his ass can't cash. He's on video so all his lies will be told soon.”
Since the UFC is now reviewing this situation, it would mean that Covington is now under two separate investigations from the promotion for his recent actions.
