Conor McGregor Becomes Two-Division Champion

At UFC 205, Conor McGregor became the first fighter to hold two UFC championships at the same time. 

Upon entering the UFC, McGregor said he would hold two division championships, much like he did in Cage Warriors prior to his UFC run..His "Mystic Mac" persona began to predict the two championships and how he would get there. This goal of his has put the featherweight division on hold while he fought in other weight classes.

His fight at UFC 205 may have been the biggest fight in UFC history. McGregor took the opportunity to shine. In the first round McGregor knocked down lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez three times, almost getting the first round knockout McGregor predicted earlier this week. Round Two: The round begins with Alvarez kicking McGregor in the midsection, McGregor cracks Alvarez with a two punch combination. Alvarez starts hunting for the takedowns again on McGregor, McGregor hits Alvarez with a side kick to the rib cage. Alvarez backs up McGregor after landing a trio of rights, McGregor rocks Alvarez with a left hook and Alvarez instantly looks for the takedown. McGregor backs up Alvarez by landing a front kick to the midsection, McGregor drops Alvarez with a combination and he pounces on him with more strikes until the referee jumps in.

McGregor fulfilled the vision he laid out when he debuted in the UFC. After the bout, he said he wanted to defend both belts, before announcing that he apologized for 'absolutely nothing' to all those he's trash talked.
