UFC President Dana White made it clear following UFC 202 that another fight between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz won't happen in the near future.
After the pay per view, White talked to ESPN and FS1 and said a trilogy fight between the two fighters wasn't going to happen right away.
"We're definitely not doing this a third time right now," White said about another fight between UFC Featherweight Champion and Diaz. "I don't think there's anybody that doesn't want to see this fight again, but Conor's either going to go defend his title or give his title up and then we'll figure out where to go from there."
While a third fight with Diaz is on the back burner, the next move is yet to be decided for the Irish fighter. White doesn't know what's on the horizon for McGregor, but he does have options. He can vacate his title and move up a weight class, try to negotiate a Diaz trilogy bout or return to featherweight.
"Conor has to defend his title or make a decision to give it up or whatever he wants to do. I don't know," White said on ESPN during SportsCenter. "I gotta sit down and see what's next."
McGregor has three roads he can choose for the near future. White was asked what he would do if he were McGregor. A fight against UFC Interim Featherweight Champion José Aldo would be the route the 47-year-old businessman and president would take.
"If I was Conor, I'd defend my title," White said.
McGregor hasn't defended his featherweight title since beating Aldo at UFC 194 last December.
