Dana White Rips Uriah Hall For Weigh-In Gaffe, Says He Doesn't Train Seriously

Uriah Hall failed to make it to the scale for the UFC Fight Night St. Louis weigh-ins, with reports that he had suffered a seizure and had to be hospitalized coming out a short time later.

UFC President Dana White says one reason that Hall may have suffered the problems leading into the weigh-in is that the fight never takes anything seriously.

“The guys at the UFC (Performance Institute) said he’s the, what’s the word – he doesn’t take it serious,” White said to MMA Junkie. “He doesn’t take his training serious, he doesn’t do what anybody tells him. He does his own thing. A week before the fight, he went to L.A. and was hanging out in L.A. in clubs and stuff. So, not good.”

Hall has yet to comment on the matter himself, but his former UFC Fight Night St. Louis opponent Vitor Belfort did wish the fighter the best in a statement released after the weigh-ins.

The UFC President even suggests that Hall move from middleweight to light heavyweight.

“What I think (Hall) needs to think about is fight at 205,” he said. “Fight at 205 or show up and do what you’re supposed to do. There’s ways to cut weight properly and safely. You need to start doing that. That’s why we are encouraging everybody to come to the UFC Performance Institute. That’s why all the guys down there do what they’re supposed to do and do it the right way, cut weight safely. The guys who don’t listen, this is what happens. And much like Kelvin Gastelum and the Johny Hendricks and the other people out there – if you can’t make that weight, then fight at the higher weight division.”

Hall has long faced criticism for being unable to "pull the trigger" in his fights. During his time on The Ultimate Fighter, perennial contender and coach Chael Sonnen told Hall immediately following one of his knockouts on the show. However, Hall's UFC career would be inconsistent.

It is also unknown at this time if the fight with Belfort will get rescheduled or if both fighters will move onto different opponents.
