WSOF Double Champion David Branch Signs With UFC

David Branch has reportedly signed with the UFC.

The two-division World Series of Fighting champion has returned to UFC. The fighter has spent almost six years away from the premiere mixed-martial-arts promotions while he competed primarily at World Series of Fighting, dominating two divisions while there. He recently left World Series of Fighting citing treatment he received while holding two championships. MMAFighting.com is reporting his contract with UFC is signed but no opponent or return date is decided. Branch is expected to compete in UFC's middleweight division.

His only loss since leaving UFC was to Anthony Johnson in a catchweight bout and is currently on a ten fight winning streak. The division he is intended to compete, middleweight is currently at a gridlock at the top of rankings. Champion Michael Bisping does not currently have an opponent but Yoel Romero, Ronaldo Souza, and Luke Rockhold are close to earning their shot at the championship. Also news on Wednesday broke Georges St-Pierre has re-signed to the UFC and his weigh class is uncertain.
