To say that the Broken Universe that Matt Hardy, and later on Jeff Hardy or “Brother Nero,” created in TNA is memorable would be an understatement if you ask Dean Ambrose.
Ambrose and Jeff were on Chris Jericho’s “Talk is Jericho” podcast and Ambrose loved the idea of the Broken Universe, saying that people all over the world love it--even people in Japan who didn’t follow TNA at the time would tune in to watch, according to Ambrose.
“It’s like not even outside the box, it was outside of a different box in a different room,” Ambrose said. “I don’t even want to mess with that box. [The Broken Universe] is so different and it’s cool and it got really over. You can’t really compare it to anything else because it’s so cool.”
The Broken Matt Hardy character began last year and created waves all over the wrestling community with the unique ways segments and even matches were being produced, essentially creating the Broken Universe. Jeff was a big part of the year-long storyline, being involved in The Final Deletion, Delete or Decay and Total Nonstop Deletion shows and segments that had given TNA a unique character.
Unfortunately for WWE fans who had wished to see the Broken Hardys return when the brothers came back at WrestleMania 33, ownership of the Broken Hardys characters is in a major legal battle between Impact Wrestling and the Hardys.
In the meantime, both Hardy brothers are still in WWE where they are the current RAW Tag Team Champions.
