Carlito is hoping John Cena wins at WrestleMania 41 and he's also open to wrestling him one more time before Cena retires at the end of 2025.
Carlito's first rival in WWE was John Cena. In fact, Carlito's WWE main roster debut saw him defeat John Cena for the WWE United States Championship in 2004. 21 years later, John Cena is wrapping up his WWE career. As he heads towards his final WrestleMania, Cena is hoping to defeat Cody Rhodes and win his 17th WWE World Title, officially snapping Ric Flair's recognized record of 16 World Championships.
Carlito spoke to Fightful's Joel Pearl ahead of WrestleMania 41 about John Cena's impending retirement. He said that many people are rooting for Cena to win the 17th World Title, including himself. However, if Cena ever wants to revisit old tensions, he'd be happy to step inside the squared circle with him one more time.
"It’s good for him. He wants to go out this way. He deserves to go out however he wants to. We’d all like to see him win the 17th championship. It’s something he deserves. If he wants to get in there one more time, I’ll beat his old butt up. I’ll whoop him again like I did before," he said.
