Gunther would love to participate in Bloodsport again, but now is not the right time.
WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther recently visited backstage at GCW Josh Barnett's Bloodsport during WrestleMania 41 weekend in Las Vegas. During his days as WALTER, Gunther competed in the original Bloodsport event before they were put together by Barnett.
Gunther spoke about his visit with Fightful's Joel Pearl in a media scrum ahead of WWE WrestleMania 41. When I asked if he would like to participate in Bloodsport, Gunther admitted that sometimes in his heart, he would like to do events like that, but that would not be a mature move right now.
"Maybe one day. Right now, I have a clear focus and a clear responsibility. As much as my wrestling heart sometimes wants to participate in stuff like that, it’s not the mature thing to approach right now. It was good to see some old friends."
Gunther's focus is on WWE WrestleMania 41 Saturday where he will defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Jey Uso.
