The latest EVOLVE events are in the books, and the promotion crowned new tag champions while another competitor from this independent company is now headed to WWE full time.
EVOLVE 72 and 73 took place, and marked the first events for the company since its streaming deal with FloSlam was announced.
At EVOLVE 73, Chris Hero bested Fightful.com Thursday podcast co-host Matt Riddle in the conclusion of their trilogy and, in the main event, the Catch Point duo of Williams and Fred Yehi prevailed in a four-way elimination match to become the new tag champs.
EVOLVE 73 also saw William Regal, the NXT general manager who was appearing live, offer Tony Nese a WWE contract during an in-ring segment. Nese has been appearing regularly on WWE TV for months in their cruiserweight division and on NXT. According to the Wrestling Observer, Drew Gulak -- who also has been a regular on WWE TV as of late -- was offered a contract as well.
Tommy End, a contracted WWE competitor, appeared in un-aired dark matches at both events. End replaced Drew Galloway, who is still out recuperating from injury.
