EXCLUSIVE: UFC Champion Daniel Cormier Wants To Face Kevin Owens & Seth Rollins

The concept of Daniel Cormier against Kevin Owens inside a pro wrestling ring sounds pretty good to the current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion.

As part of the media scrum for UFC 210 held on Wednesday, Cormier told Fightful.com that Owens would be his dream opponent if he ever gave pro wrestling a try.

"Go fight Kevin Owens. That would be cool," Cormier said. "I like KO, man. I'd like to go put some work in with KO—a hard-hitting match. I may get to punch him a couple times and he might be durable enough to not fold over."

Cormier is a longtime fan of pro wrestling. He told Fightful he would relish the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of fighters like Brock Lesnar, Ken Shamrock, Dan Severn, and Fightful's own Matt Riddle and give wrestling a try.

"If the UFC would let me, I'd do a one-off, yeah," Cormier said.

Cormier noted he also would like a chance to wrestle against Seth Rollins, who is a friend of Cormier.

"I think Seth Rollins is the best worker, and he's my friend," Cormier told Fightful.

Fightful.com also asked Cormier about whether or not he viewed WWE as a competing product to the UFC.

"I don't know if there's necessarily competition because, WWE, they've changed their business model. They're not in the pay-per-view business anymore," Cormier said. "That network's killing it, though. I heard they've got about a million and a half subscribers, though."

It marks the second fight between Cormier and Johnson; Cormier won the first meeting by submission in the third round, at UFC 187 in May of 2015 in a fight where Cormier won the then-vacant title.
