Shane Helms won the WWE Hardcore Championship at Wrestlemania 18 and he's proud of that.

For eight years, Helms was in WWE. Some years he would be featured on Wrestlemania and other years he would be absent from the pay-per-view. On Fightful Wrestling's podcast, host Sean Ross Sapp asked Helms about his fondest memories from a Wrestlemania. The first thing Helms said was his only WWE Hardcore Championship run which took place entirely during Wrestlemania 18

"I guess winning the hardcore title at Wrestlemania 18, that way you can always say you won a championship at Mania and that's always cool to have on the resume," said Helms.

He points out he's one of only two wrestlers to win the WWE and WCW hardcore championships. Helms held the WWE Hardcore Championship for approximately an hour, when his one-time partner Molly Holly hit him with a frying pan and pinned him during an interview segment. Helms talked about the segment on the podcast.

"It didn't feel too good. It didn't feel worth a shit," said Helms."The sound guys and the lighting guys who were doing this, I was like if there's any fuck-up, if the microphone is in the way or the lighting isn't right or the verbiage has broken. If there's anything you might think we're going to have to re-do, stop it before she hits be with this fucking frying pan. Cause that shit is going to happen just once," continued Helms.

Holly and Helms ended their partnership on television after that Wrestlemania which Helms says was timely. In the rest of the podcast, Helms would talk about each Wrestlemania while he was in WWE including his opening tag-team match against Ric Flair at Wrestlemania 23

Helms appears weekly on Friday on Fightful Wrestling's podcast which is available immediately with free membership.
