Floyd Mayweather Sr. Says He Can Beat Conor McGregor

If the super fight between UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather Jr. ever happens, then the lightweight kingpin may have to fight another Mayweather after that.

Floyd Mayweather Sr., the father of Floyd Mayweather Jr., has proclaimed that even he can defeat the UFC Lightweight Champion.

“He don’t want that fight. Floyd’s gonna turn him upside down,” Mayweather Sr. told Fight Hype. “That be like you and Floyd in the ring! [Laughs]. He looks bad in the ring. That’s a done deal right there. They’ve already showed the best that he’s got. He ain’t nothing but talk! I told them people on the TV already, forget about Floyd. Let’s throw Floyd to the side. Here I am, I’m a 64-year-old man and I’ll beat your ass. I’ll beat the s**t out of McGregor! Anytime he wants it, let’s go.”

Mayweather Sr. had a great boxing career as well, earning a record of 28-6-1 in his 35 appearances inside the ring.

The father of the legendary boxer says that McGregor doesn’t even know how to get himself into boxing shape for a potential super fight.

“I’m telling you right now, he can do all the stuff he want to do but this guy don’t know nothing about how to get your body right and the amount of time and everything you’ve got to do, he don’t know nothing about that,” said Mayweather Sr.

During his illustrious career, the elder Mayweather won the US Boxing Championship Tournament in 1977, defeating Miguel Barreto in the finals.
