The United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has informed both Lyman Good and the UFC of a potential USADA violation for an out-of-competition test.
The test that Good has failed was administered on October 1. Good, a former Bellator Champion, has been pulled out of a bout with Belal Muhamad at UFC 205.
The full UFC statement reads:
“The UFC organization was notified today that the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has informed Lyman Good of a potential Anti-Doping violation stemming from an out-of-competition sample collected on October 14, 2016. USADA has provisionally suspended Good based on the potential anti-doping violation. Good was scheduled to fight Belal Muhammad in New York at UFC 205. The UFC is currently seeking a replacement to fight Muhammad.
USADA, the independent administrator of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, will handle the results management and appropriate adjudication of this case. It is important to note that, under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, there is a full fair legal review process that is afforded to all athletes before any sanctions are imposed. Consistent with all previous potential anti-doping violations, additional information or UFC statements will be provided at the appropriate time as the process moves forward.”
While the UFC has issued a statement on the situation, Good nor his camp have yet to issue a statement of any kind.
UFC 205 will take place on Saturday, November 12 from Madison Square Garden in New York, New York with Eddie Alvarez and Conor McGregor headlining.
