Francis Ngannou Knocks Out Overeem And Wants Title Shot

Francis Ngannou may have earned himself a championship fight. 

At UFC 218, Francis Ngannou scored a first-round knockout against Alistair Overeem with a left hook. With six wins and six finishes in the UFC, the heavyweight has put himself in position to challenge for the UFC Heavyweight Championship.

Round One: The round begins with Overeem immediately swinging at Ngannou, Ngannou grabs Overeem and he holds him against the cage wall. Ngannou attacks Overeem with a few strikes as he gets him on the cage wall, the referee separates the fighters for inactivity. The action resumes with Overeem destroys a swinging Overeem with a counter left hook and Overeem goes out cold.

In his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan, he said he believes he deserves to face Stipe Miocic for the UFC Heavyweight Champion and he claimed to be ready. In a backstage interview with UFC's Megan Olivi, Ngannou said he has been visualizing the championship during training. 

"I was thinking about how I was going to finish this and then go take my title shot. In my training I think about the belt," said Ngannou 

Ngannou revealed he was excited to fight Overeem because of his legendary status. Ngannou also said he believes his potential match against the champion Miocic will end in the same way, a knockout.
