Holly Holm is a former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion and at UFC 208, she had the opportunity to become the first ever UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion.
However, Holm came out on the losing end of a decision to Germaine De Randamie and wants to run it back.
“I think it warrants a rematch,” Holm said after the fight. “When you have more than half the people saying the fight should have gone the other way, usually that warrants a rematch. So that would be awesome.”
Holm hasn’t earned a victory since defeating former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey at UFC 193, she’s now on a three fight losing streak.
De Randamie also nailed Holm with strikes after the bell in rounds two and three, illegal shots that Holm feels were intentional by the new champion.
“Well, yeah (it was intentional),” she said. “If it’s one shot after the bell after a combo, that’s an accident. But I still think I could have won the fight on my own. I guess I’d say so (lost respect for De randamie), but it’s still a fight. I know she’s not trying to be my friend, either. Next time, I’ll just be ready to throw back.”
Holm is only one of four women to ever hold the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship, the other three are Ronda Rousey, Miesha Tate and Amanda Nunes.
