Jim Cornette Can't Enter Canada For Bound For Glory, Apparently Done With Impact Wrestling

We're still not sure if GFW is even GFW anymore, but regardless, they've just parted ways with their on-screen authority figure. Jim Cornette is out at the former TNA Impact Wrestling, and the reason is simply priceless.

Bound For Glory is November 5 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and Jim Cornette can't go there.

Fourth Competitor Added To Title Match At NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 19

He was denied access to our northern neighbor by border officials back in 2010 when they ran his record. Cornette's record includes a number of assaults, mostly stemming from incidents involving fights with fans who attacked him while he was a manager at matches in the 80s. What's odd is that he had been traveling to Canada for years, including during his run with WWF, and he had never had problems before. Perhaps border security had been beefed up in the interim.

So Cornette can't go to Canada, which is not only the site of Bound For Glory, but the tapings afterward as well. Because of this, he told The Wrestling Observer that he is done with the company. He made sure to add that there's no heat between the two parties and no grudges being held.

Cornette showed up at the tapings in August at the behest of the now departed Jeff Jarrett, replacing Bruce Prichard as on-screen authority figure, stripping Alberto El Patron of the Global Title and making the "Gauntlet for the Gold" match that saw Eli Drake emerge as the new champ. He's also been getting heavily involved in other storylines as well.

The agreement was apparently only for the one set of tapings, but that changed afterward and was to also include Bound For Glory and the tapings to follow. Cornette says he spoke to Dutch Mantell and told him that if those tapings were to move to Canada, he wouldn't be able to continue with the company, so it looks like Anthem has made their choice.

Cornette has agreed to come to Nashville and shoot an on-camera storyline exit for him, but there is no word on what that might entail.
