Jim Ross thinks WWE Royal Rumble will provide creative opportunities.
This Sunday, WWE will be holding the 30th Royal Rumble match. The event will be the first after the most recent brand split, which has set the table with two world titles and a few big storylines. In a recent blog Ross revealed his thoughts on what could happen Sunday. The former WWE employee examined why the pay-per-view has potential and even mentioned an outcome he could see happening.
"In a perfect world, after the event concludes on January 29 we will be able to more clearly see what is being built for April 2 in Orlando at Wrestlemania. I see multiple storylines being forwarded in San Antonio along with a jaw drop attempt somewhere along the way as it relates to who wins the rumble match and who leaves Texas with title belts. It's very doable to come out of the Rumble match with multiple stories forwarded including adding more fuel to the still smoldering fire involving Goldberg and Lesnar which looks like it will headline WM33. I'd certainly close the event with the Rumble match if I were holding the pencil as the winner has just punched his ticket to Orlando which feels mighty big to me especially if the winner happens to be the Undertaker, " wrote Ross.
Ross does not give specific predictions because he believes the Royal Rumble match provides lots of opportunities.
"One of the great things about this Rumble is that there are many, right ways to skin the proverbial, creative cat which allows us to go into the event guessing as to what creative that will be employed to produce the maximum positive results for the build to Wrestlemania," wrote Ross.
WWE Royal Rumble will feature two world-title matches and a 30-man Royal Rumble match with one of the deepest fields ever, including Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Brock Lesnar, Goldberg, Braun Strowman, Chris Jericho, Baron Corbin, and The Undertaker, just to name a few.
Ross also discussed the legacy of Jimmy Snuka and meeting President Trump in 2007. He posts his blogs and podcast The Ross Report on JRsBarBQ.com.
Fightful.com will be holding live viewing parties and coverage of WWE Royal Rumble and NXT TakeOver: San Antonio.
