Kevin Sullivan On Chris Benoit: "Intense Performer And One Of The Best"

Former WCW wrestler Kevin Sullivan opens about his feelings and experiences regarding Chris Benoit.

Sullivan had an interview with Hannibal TV and spoke highly of his former rival, even recalling the time the two had a falls count match in a bathroom at the Clash of the Champions 34 event in 1997.

"He was one of the most intense guys, the most intense guy I ever worked with. He could do anything. The bathroom match was intense. We had a match in San Francisco, I had a match that was similar but nothing was quite like the bathroom match. There was a spot here he wanted to put my head down the toilet and I said no. He caught on right away and he was smart enough at that stage in the business to understand that [I'm right]. He was an intense performer and one of the best," Sullivan said.

Despite the two having some bad blood in the past, with Benoit marrying Sullivan's ex-wife Nancy Benoit. Despite the double murder-suicide committed by Benoit, Sullivan still feels bad for the families of all the people close to him that have died.

"It still hurts everyone in the best. When you lose someone close to you, you start to think about the mother and father and I remember Chris' father and you can see the pain and grief. That's a hard thing to carry for the rest of your life," Sullivan said.
