King Mo To Be In Lashley's Corner At Slammiversary

King Mo is stepping back into the world of professional wrestling.

Impact Wrestling released a 30-minute video on its YouTube channel previewing this Sunday's Slammiversary pay-per-view. The preview show revealed that Muhammad "King Mo" Lawal will be in Bobby Lashley's corner for the main event, which will see Lashley defend the TNA World Title against Alberto El Patron.

News broke last week that Dos Caras, the legendary father of Alberto El Patron, will be in El Patron’s corner," Josh Matthews said during the Slammiversary preview. "Lashley tried to one-up El Patron with an announcement of his own over the weekend. In the corner of Lashley, from the world of MMA, a monumental star in King Mo will be watching the back of Lashley in the main event of Slammiversary. But once the bell rings, it’s Lashley and it’s El Patron, going one on one for just the second time in their careers.

That first one-on-one match happened at the first episode of Impact following the regime change at the promotion that saw Jeff Jarrett and his allies reclaim creative control, scrapping the TNA name and re-branding the promotion solely as Impact Wrestling.

Although both King Mo and Lashley are signed as MMA fighters to Bellator, they never have crossed paths inside the cage. King Mo has appeared for TNA a few times previously, but this will be his first appearance on camera for the promotion in more than two years.

Last week, Lashley invited President Donald Trump to be his cornerman at Slammiversary, hearkening back to when Trump and Lashley were the same time for the hair vs. hair "Battle of the Billionaires" match at WrestleMania 23.
