WWE Raw Results For 1/29: 3 Men's Elimination Chamber Qualifiers, 2 Title Matches & An Amazing Women's Match

- The show starts off with highlights of Asuka winning the first ever women’s Rumble match, followed by the WWE debut of Ronda Rousey.

 

- Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon makes her way to the ring, who welcomes everybody to Monday Night Raw. McMahon talks about Raw 25 last week before saying that tonight kicks off the next 25 years, then she speaks about the women’s Rumble match. McMahon then talks about Rousey making her debut at the Rumble event, McMahon then brings out Asuka.

 

McMahon then announces that the Raw Women’s Champion in Alexa Bliss will defend the title in the first ever women’s Elimination Chamber match, Asuka speaks and says she will become the champion at Wrestlemania 34.

 

Sasha Banks interrupts Asuka and makes her way to the ring with a microphone in hand, Banks talks about making history at the Rumble. Banks says he came out to congratulate Asuka on her win at the Rumble, Banks then says she wants a match with Asuka tonight. McMahon then makes Banks versus Asuka for tonight.

 

- The Raw announce team then talks about Shinsuke Nakamura winning the men’s Rumble match, then they discuss the men’s Elimination Chamber match.

 

Men’s Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match - Last Man Standing Match: Braun Strowman vs. Kane

The match is joined in progress and we see Kane shoving Strowman into the ring post, Kane grabs a kendo stick and he attacks Strowman with it. Kane and Strowman continue their brawl into the crowd, Strowman drags Kane to the computer area before smashing his head on a railing. Strowman grabs a steel chair and he nails Kane with it, Strowman gets a production case and he pushes it into Kane. Strowman gets the cahir back and he attacks a downed Kane with it, Strowman then lifts up the announcers area and he drops it onto Kane. Kane doesn’t answer the ten count and the referee calls for the bell.

 

Winner: Braun Strowman

After the match, Corey Graves interviews Braun Strowman, Strowman says he did his job and he made sure Kane wasn’t the last man standing.

 

- The Raw announce team is back and they are talking about the destruction caused by Braun Strowman.

 

- Kane is being shown taken to an ambulance backstage.

 

- Braun Strowman is shown walking backstage when Raw GM Kurt Angle confronts him, Angle is angry with Strowman for what he did. Strowman says he did just what Angle stipulated when he made the match, then promises to do more in the future.

 

- Elias is in the ring and he wants to know “who will walk with Elias?” Elias says he sings for himself and because he likes the sound of his voice, Elias promises to get revenge on John Cena for eliminating him at the Rumble. Elias says he must defeat Matt Hardy to get into the Elimination Chamber match next month, Elias then sings a song until he gets interrupted by Hardy.

 

Men’s Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match: Matt Hardy vs. Elias

The match begins with Elias backing Hardy into the corner, Hardy then hits Elias with a few strikes in the corner. Elias gets Hardy down with a headlock, Hardy gets up and Elias maintains the headlock until Hardy breaks free. Hardy looks for the Side Effect and he attacks Elias with chops in the corner instead, Hardy then hits Elias with a Side Effect for the three count.

 

Hardy then wrenches away on the head of Elias, Elias gets free and he nails Hardy with a few strikes. Hardy looks for another Side Effect and Elias counters with a clothesline, Elias traps Hardy in the corner before landing more strikes.

 

Elias gets Hardy near the ring post before smashing his arm on it multiple times as we go to a commercial break, we return from the break to see Elias pulling on the injured arm of Hardy. Hardy fights back and Elias goes back to work on the injured arm, Hardy recovers to hit Elias with headbutts and elbow strikes.

 

Hardy then hits Elias with a Russian leg sweep for a near fall, Hardy then smashes the face of Elias into the turnbuckles a few times. Elias gets free from a Hardy bulldog attempt, Hardy stuns Elias before landing a middle rope elbow strike followed by a Side Effect for a near fall. Bray Wyatt’s music plays and it distracts Hardy, Elias nails Hardy with a Drift Away for the three count.

Winner: Elias

 

After the match, Bray Wyatt appears and he is laughing at Matt Hardy.

 

- The Miz appears through a Twitter video talking about his title defense against Roman Reigns for tonight, then he wonders when he will get what he has earned.

 

WWE Intercontinental Title Match: The Miz (c) w/The Miztourage vs. Roman Reigns

 

The match begins with Reigns dropping a charging Miz with a single punch, Reigns traps Miz in the corner while landing more strikes. Miz catches a charging Reigns with a boot to the face, Miz then attacks Reigns with chops and Reigns isn’t fazed. Reigns again drops Miz with a single punch to the face, Reigns then knocks Miz out of the ring with a clothesline.

 

Reigns goes after the Miz on the arena floor before throwing him into the ring steps, Reigns gets Miz in the ring and he clotheslines him right back out of the ring. Reigns grabs a chair and he goes after The Miztourage, Miz then sends Reigns into the ring post as we go to a commercial break.

 

We return from the break to see Miz holding Reigns in a chin lock in the middle of the ring, Reigns gets free and he catches Miz with a Samoan drop. Miz and Reigns have a striking exchange in the middle of the ring, Reigns eventually drops Miz a few times with some clotheslines.

 

Reigns traps Miz in the corner before landing a bunch of clothesline strikes, Reigns then hits Miz with a running boot to the face. Reigns looks for a superman punch and Miz counters with a chop block, Miz then attacks Reigns with the It Kicks. Reigns avoids the final kick and Miz applies the figure four leg lock to him, Reigns reverses the hold and Miz gets to the ropes.

 

Miz recovers forst and he kicks a limping Reigns in his injured leg, Miz looks for another figure four and Reigns counters with a one arm sit out power bomb for a near fall. Miz looks to remove the turnbuckle pad and the referee stops him, Miz then pokes Reigns in the eye after a ref distraction before hitting the Skull Crushing Finale for the near fall.

 

Reigns recovers to nail Miz with an elbow strike in the corner, Reigns misses a charge to the corner before nailing Miz with a superman punch for a near fall. The Miztourage returns to the ring and Reigns attacks them both, Reigns also attacks Miz on the arena floor.

 

Reigns gets back in the ring and Bo Dallas attacks him, Reigns attacks The Miztourage again and Miz rolls him up out of nowhere to get the three count.

 

Winner: The Miz, still the WWE Intercontinental Champion

 

The Revival (Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder) vs. Heath Slater & Rhyno

 

The match is joined in progress and we see Slater nail the arm of Wilder with a top rope axe handle drop, Slater then hits Wilder with a few forearm strikes. Dawson distracts Slater so Wilder can nail him with a divorce court DDT to the arm, Dawson tags in and he attacks the injured arm of Slater.

 

Wilder tags in and he catches the injured arm of Slater with a knee strike, Wilder then wrenches on the injured arm of Slater. Slater escapes a suplex to hit Wilder with a neck breaker, Rhyno gets the tag after Dawson and he cleans house on the opposing team.

 

Rhyno crushes Dawson with a top rope shoulder tackle followed by a belly to belly suplex for a near fall, Dawson recovers to hit Rhyno with a chop block. Wilder tags in and The Revival hits Rhyno with a Shatter Machine for the three count.

 

Winners: The Revival (Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder)

 

After the match, Scott Dawson says The Revival just defeated the first ever WWE Smackdown Tag Team Champions, Wilder and Dawson question about whether or not the fans care about wrestling. Wilder says that The Revival learn from the past and the WWE Universe cannot stop living in it.

 

- Asuka is shown warming up backstage.

 

- The Dudley Boyz 2018 WWE Hall Of Fame video airs.

 

- The Balor Club cuts a promo through Twitter and Finn Balor talks about his performance at the Rumble match.

 

- Rene Young interviews Sasha Banks, who says she is moments away from defeating Asuka and now she gets a chance to make history.

 

Sasha Banks vs. Asuka

The match begins with Banks shoving Asuka into the corner before landing a palm strike, Asuka escapes a roll up to get Banks in a headlock. Banks escapes and she gets Asuka down while wrenching away on her arm, Banks then backs Asuka into the corner while landing a ton of strikes. Banks gets to the ring apron and Asuka assaults her with kicks, Asuka then knocks Banks to the arena floor with a hip attack. Banks gets back in the ring and Asuka nails her with more hip attacks, Asuka then chokes a cornered Banks with her foot.

Asuka starts focusing her attack on the arm of Banks, Asuka continuously wrenches away on the arm of Banks. Banks fights back and she crushes Asuka with a knee strike to the face followed by a double knee strike for a near fall as we go to a commercial break, we return from the break to see Asuka leveling Banks with a series of kicks. Banks recovers and she traps Asuka in the ropes before landing a double knee strike for a near fall, Banks then decides to pull back on the arms of Asuka. Banks then hits Asuka with a suplex for a near fall, Banks keeps Asuka down before slapping her in the face.

Asuka gets angry and she levels Banks with a multiple strike combination, Banks recovers and locks Asuka in the Bank Statement. Asuka gets free and she catches Banks with a few rolls up for some near falls, Banks reapplies the Bank Statement to Asuka and Asuka gets free again. Banks then throws Asuka out of the ring and goes for a suicide dive, Asuka crushes a leaping Banks with a kick to the head. Asuka gets Banks in the ring and they get into a striking exchange, Asuka then levels Banks with a knee strike and spin kick. Asuka then cracks Banks with a sliding knee strike, Asuka goes to the top rope and she nails Banks with a missile drop kick for a near fall.

Asuka gets free after a roll up from banks to apply the arm bar and Banks escapes, Banks then causes a charging Asuka to fall to the arena floor. Banks then leaps off the ring apron to crush Asuka with a double knee strike, Banks gets Asuka in the ring and she goes to the top rope. Banks hits Asuka with a top rope double knee strike for a near fall, Asuka gets Banks in the Asuka lock and Banks escapes. Banks escapes and gets Asuka in the Bank Statement, Asuka escapes and she applies the Asuka Lock and Banks taps out.

Winner: Asuka

- John Cena cuts a promo through Twitter about his match with Finn Balor tonight.

- Titus Worldwide are shown backstage.

WWE Raw Tag Team Title Match: The Bar (Sheamus & Cesaro) (c) vs. Titus Worldwide (Titus O’Neil & Apollo Crews) w/Dana Brooke

The match begins with Crews catching Sheamus with a roll up for a near fall, Sheamus takes a breather before nailing Crews with a few strikes. Crews catches Sheamus with another roll up for another near fall, Crews then hits Sheamus with a drop kick for a near fall. O’Neil tags in and he works with Crews to hit Sheamus with a double back elbow strike, Sheamus recovers and he attacks O’Neil with strikes in the corner. Cesaro tags in and he attacks O’Neil with a few strikes of his own, Cesaro corners O’Neil before assaulting him with strikes.

O’Neil recovers to corner Cesaro before tossing him across the ring, O’Neil then hits Cesaro with an avalanche in the corner. Sheamus blind tags himself into the match and he attacks O’Neil as we go to a commercial break, we return from the break to see Cesaro holding O’Neil in a chin lock. O’Neil breaks free and he drops Cesaro with a back suplex, Sheamus tags in and he drops O’Neil with a clothesline. Cesaro tags in to double team O’Neil with Sheamus for a near fall, Sheamus tags in and he tosses O’Neil out of the ring. Sheamus distracts the referee and O’Neil attacks Cesaro on the arena floor, O’Neil gets back in the ring after clothes lining Sheamus on the top rope.

O’Neil then drops Sheamus with a clothesline before both competitors tag their partners in, Crews quickly cleans house on the opposing team. Crews catches Cesaro with a top rope high cross body for a near fall, Crews follows up by dropping Cesaro with a clothesline followed by a standing shooting star press for a near fall. Cesaro escapes a slam from Crews before tagging Sheamus in, Sheamus catches a leaping Crews with a power bomb for a near fall. Crews recovers and catches Sheamus with a standing moonsault for a near fall, Cesaro tags in and Crews almost gets a pin on him. The Bar hit Crews with their finisher for the three count.

Winners: The Bar, still the WWE Raw Tag Team Champions

- Highlights are shown of Ronda Rousey’s WWE debut.

 

Men’s Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match: Finn Balor w/Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson vs. John Cena

 

The match begins with Balor backing Cena into the corner before letting him go free, Cena gets Balor down while working over his arm. Balor reverses Cena and now he works over his arm, gets free to take Cena down with a few arm drags. Cena recovers and he drops Balor with a shoulder tackle before applying a headlock, Balor gets free and Cena rolls out of the ring to take a breather. Cena and Balor then engage in a test of strength in the middle of the ring, Balor gets free and he catches Cena with a roll up before eating a right as we go to a commercial break.

We return from the break to see Cena dropping Balor with a back elbow strike, Cena would then slam Balor for a near fall. Cena follows that up with a few hard Irish whips into the corner on Balor, Balor catches a charging Cena with a boot to the face followed by a double stomp. Balor then hits a cornered Cena with a running chop, Cena recovers and he nails Balor with a shoulder tackle followed by a back suplex. Cena misses the Five Knuckle Shuffle and Balor lands a reverse DDT for a near fall, Cena goes for the Attitude Adjustment and Balor escapes to have a striking exchange. Cena then drops a charging Balor with a kick to the face, Cena then hits Balor with a Five Knuckle Shuffle.

Cena goes for the Attitude Adjustment and Balor escapes to land an overhead kick for a near fall, Balor then hits Cena with a sling blade. Cena recovers and he catches a charging Balor with a clothesline, Cena then hits a charging Balor with an Attitude Adjustment for a near fall. Cena continuously gets distracted by the crowd during the match, Balor hits a distracted Cena with a shotgun drop kick before missing the Cupe De Grace. Cena locks Balor in the STF and Balor gets to the ropes, Balor then drops and incoming Cena with an enzaguri. Balor goes to the top rope and Cena follows him up there, Cena hits Balor with a super Attitude Adjustment for the three count.

 

Winner: John Cena
