Major Fight Pulled From UFC 209

A major UFC fight is off of tomorrow night's UFC 209 show.

Izvestia reported that Khabib Nurmagomedov fell ill while attempting to make weight, and Fightful.com was able to confirm that he was taken to a Las Vegas hospital. He was taken three hours before weigh-ins, but was still there well into the weigh-ins. UFC officials confirmed that Nurmagomedov was released from the hospital and not medically cleared.

Khabib was set to face Tony Ferguson for the interim UFC Lightweight Championship at UFC 209, serving as the co-main event of the show. Ferguson had previously weighed in at 154.5.

This is the third time a fight between the two has been pulled as Nurmagomedov withdrew from their December 2015 fight with a rib injury, and Ferguson pulled out of a UFC on Fox event in April after he had fluid and blood in his lung.

UFC 209 takes place Saturday, March 4 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas Nevada. Fightful will have full, live coverage and a live, post-show podcast.
