Marc Diakiese suffered the first loss of his professional MMA career when he suffered a decision loss to Drakkar Klose at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale.
The fighter wouldn’t mind having a rematch with Klose, who has seemingly denied Diakiese another opportunity.
“I’ve read an interview with him and he said that he doesn’t want a rematch, that’s how f**king badly he wants to hold onto that win. Instead of fighting me again, he said he wants me to train with him. You know, go up to his gym and work with him, but I’m not really into that. I would like the rematch, but I know how hard it is to get rematches in the UFC. I know I’m the better fighter. If I can get it, that would be great, but at the same time, I know it’s probably not likely with the UFC. Even at that, it’s not really a pressing issue for me. I just want to train and enjoy myself at the moment,” Diakiese said to MMA Fighting.
While Klose has apparently turned down a rematch with Diakiese, neither fighter is booked for another bout at the moment.
Whether he fights Klose or not, the British slugger wants to get back into the Octagon by December.
“I’ve been talking with my manager and I want to get back in there in December. After the loss, I just want to the take time to improve. I know what I’m capable if I start focusing on certain things,” says Diakiese.
Prior to the lose to Klose, the British slugger earned wins in the UFC over Lukasz Sajewski, Frankie Perez and Teemu Packalen.
